The Norman conquest proved to be the most important and influential event in the history of the United Kingdom. The year 1066 witnessed the arrival of William the Conqueror, the Duke of Normandy, and his army on the English shores. William's army of Norman knights succeeded in defeating the Anglo-Saxons at the Battle of Hastings, irreversibly changing the direction of English history.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬' 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭
The King Edward the Confessor passed away 1066 function of which resulted in a succession emergency. Harold Godwinson decided that he wanted the Crown and wastes no time to challenge with William, Duke of Normandy and with King Harald Hardrada of Norway. William decided to seize the time by adding more troops and giving orders that preparations for the invasion were unavoidable.

On the 14th of October, 1066, Normans and the elderly Anglo-Saxons battled it out in Hastings at William’s army. On the last day, despite an arduous battle, Harold's troops were massacred and the king perished. The battle finally gave William the opportunity to officially crown himself as the next king of England.

Through his interactions with the Indians, William's values were challenged, but he remained steadfast in his beliefs. He did so at some point by making the English aristocracy acknowledge him as a monarch. On Christmas day 1066, William the Conqueror was crowned in Westminster Abbey.

William reinforced his power strengthening the Normans positions, building the castles, and conducting a census. The English Language during Medieval times were greatly influenced by Norman French. The Normans’ feudal system interwove with Anglo-Saxon government, reinforcing the political structure of feudalism.

The Norman Conquest launched the process brought modern Britain into being as a unified, centralized state that would yield great power. England's culture was primarily based on the Europe continent. The English monarchy and Parliament are directly related to the period preceding the conquest.

Conclusion:
With the Norman Conquest, it cannot be outlined the English history in any other way except the irrevocable one. Persistent social, political, administrative and cultural modification, England underwent extensive transformation. The Battle of Hastings of 1066 that remained one of the most important historical events and has also influenced the country till now. The Norman conquerors defeated the English, but they absorbed their culture over time, becoming an entwined culture.
