🌟 We are thrilled to spotlight Dr. Rebecca Dodge as part of the Voices of STEM initiative! 🌟

Rebecca shares her exciting career path in geoscience, extending from field mapping for the USGS followed by a career in the oil and gas industry to research and educational outreach.

Rebecca received her B.S in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in the same from the Colorado School of Mines. Her first post-grad job involved photogeologic and field mapping of active faults in Nevada and Utah for the USGS Branch of Earthquake Tectonics and Risk. She then spent fourteen years in the oil exploration business, applying remote sensing technology for both international exploration and environmental purposes.

Since joining academia 27 years ago, she has transitioned from research and educational outreach at a NASA Minority University Research Center at the University of Texas at El Paso to teaching Geosciences and Environmental Science. She is currently an Emeritus Geology and Environmental Science Associate Professor at Midwestern State University. In addition, she is deeply committed to training and educating future science teachers in geosciences, earth system science, and environmental observation techniques, with an emphasis on the integration of field observations and geospatial technology.
