There are two types of coal analysis- Proximate analysis and Ultimate Analysis.
You may have a question, what is Proximate Analysis? and How is carried it out?
In this video concept of Proximate analysis is explained in detail along with procedure and formulae.
Proximate analysis is the study or analysis of coal samples for -
(i) Moisture % (ii) Volatile matter %  (iii) Ash % (iv) Fixed carbon %
It may be noted that proximate analysis has no connection with the word “approximate”.
