How to Make a Door Knob Hole Bigger

In this video, Renos enlarges a doorknob hole.

As he's changing out doorknobs in an older home, he discovers that the holes for the existing doorknobs are too small for modern-day doorknobs.

Forced to resize the doorknob holes, Renos is forced to create a way to drill a new pilot hole in order to guide the hole saw and drill, as it cut through the solid core louvered door.

He successfully executes a clean-cut and creates a new larger hole that not only goes all the way through the door in one pass but also leaves a hole with clean edges on both sides of the door.

He then completes his demonstration by installing the new doorknob and testing it to make sure that the knob turns and recoils freely.
