Join me in my kitchen as I show you how to make a Japanese hot pot LIVE! In this live stream I’ll show you the basic broth recipe, some common vegetables to use and how to make niku-dango, Japanese meatballs. Cook along with the ingredients below or just feel free to watch and come back for a reference any time!

Ingredients for 3-4 servings:

For the broth:
800 ml (3 ½ US cups) of water
1 tbsp of dashi (or katsuobushi/kombu for fresh dashi)
2 tbsps of sake
2 tbsps of soy sauce
1 tbsp of mirin

For the meatballs
~200g of ground meat
2 cm knob of ginger grated
1 garlic cloves grated
2 tsps of soy sauce
1 tbsp of starch*
Salt & pepper

Recommended ingredients:
Chicken or pork belly slices
2-3 shiitake mushrooms, enoki or shimeji mushrooms
¼ of napa cabbage
½ carrot
1 green onion, sliced
1 block of tofu, cubed

Udon to finish
