20th May 2022 (Day 423)

Director: "Ganakala Shiromani" Dr B Govindarajan

Today we will listen to "Palukavemi Naa Dhaivama", a composition of Thyagarajaswami in Ragam Purnachandrika, Adi Thalam. It is a rendition of Sangita Kalanidhi Vid. Madurai Mani Iyer.

In this song, Thyagaraja asks Lord Rama, "Oh Supreme Lord! Is it fair to remain silent, when others make fun of me? Why are you angry with me, when I have behaved according to your wishes?
My parents taught me to be a good devotee and protected me, but others who do not like this are hurting me. Knowing this, how long will you silently watch? Please speak and console this Thyagaraja!"
