How to Get Dried Acrylic Paint Out of Your Clothing & Fabrics NON-TOXIC

Ever gotten acrylic paint on your clothing and thought it was ruined? Here is a great way to get it out NON-TOXICALLY! Soak for an hour to overnight in Winsor and Newton's Brush Cleaner and Restorer. Also works on carpets and other textiles.

After 35 years of painting, this is the most effective, least toxic, least destructive to fabrics and easiest to use product I have found. Please feel free to share your favorite solutions in the comments selection below.

This method is for DRIED acrylic paint. If you catch the paint while it is still wet, you can often daub it off and rinse with water and then wash right away.

1. Soak in brush cleaner and restorer for 20 minutes to overnight depending on the stubbornness of the stain.
2. Once the paint is loosened, use something to scrap away the loosened acrylic layer.
3. Once paint is all scraped off, launder garment according to manufacturers instructions.

The brush cleaner can leave a slightly oily residue so you must wash the garment afterwards.

REMEMBER! Some colors such as those containing the phthalocyanine and quinacridone pigments are STAINING colors. Even if you can remove the acrylic binder with this product, you may never be able to get the pigment stain out.
