Election observers were present on Wednesday at the Fresno County Elections Office as ballots were being hand-counted.

The observers included two men from the United States Department of Justice, who were inside a warehouse watching the process.

The Department of Justice sent election monitors to Fresno County for Tuesday’s special election.
