칸하! 구독자 이벤트 곡이지만 어쩌다 보니 시아닌에 이어 두 번째로 라노타 보스곡을 재즈 편곡으로 바꾸게 됐네요
그래서 썸네일도 시아닌 때 쓰던 느낌으로 가져왔습니다

항상 작업하는데 힘들었다곤 하지만 이 곡도 만만치 않았는데요..
우선 외치는 보컬 부분을 어떻게 해야 하나 고민을 조금 했습니다

Chrome Vox나 Deadly Slot Game 같은 음이 정해져 있지 않는 외치는 보컬이 많은 곡들도 새로운 음으로 만드는 작업을 했었으니
딱히 보컬에 큰 비중을 두고 있지 않은 Stasis는 “걍 꾸미는 느낌으로 때우면 되겠지” 라고 생각했는데
이게 나올 때 마다 다른 악기들이 싹 멈추고 보컬만 강조되다 보니까 이 부분의 멜로디가 조금이라도 어정쩡하면 굉장히 이상하게 들리는 거예요
그래서 이번 곡은 음정보다 박자에 중시하고 거의 작곡을 하는 방향으로 작업했습니다

그 다음인 Drop 부분, 원곡은 Psytrance 베이스로 파를 16분 음표로 계속 몰아치는 구성을 가지고 있는데요
이걸 원곡을 살릴까 그냥 시아닌 때처럼 각 악기 Solo로 때울까 하다가 그러면 컨셉도 겹치고, 원곡의 느낌을 살릴 수 없을 것 같아서
한번 미친 듯이 파만 찍어볼까 하고 해봤는데 생각보다 긴장감 있는 구간이 되어서 재밌게 작업했던 기억이 있네요

그리고 마지막 Chorus 부분을 정말 애먹었는데 이게 개인적으로는 후렴에 어울리는 멜로디가 아니라고 생각하거든요
높거나 빠르지도 않고, 제일 집중 시켜야 되는 두 개의 멜로디가 어느 하나 죽는 것 없이 동일하게 살아있다 보니까 얘를 어쿠스틱 곡에서 대체 어떻게 구현한담…
하나를 빼자니 후렴인데 빼긴 그렇고 두 개를 다 섞으려니 조잡하고 도저히 후렴의 느낌은 안 살고 덕지덕지 붙인 것 같아서 한 세 번은 갈아엎었네요 확실히 배음이 많은 피아노를 빼니까 훨씬 깔끔해진 느낌이 나왔습니다

중간중간 실패의 조짐에서 괴로워도 했지만 결국엔 만족스러운 결과가 나와서 참 다행이네요 과거의 나가 밉긴 하지만 해내는 게 신기하긴 합니다

그리고 혼자 큰 편성을 다루는게 어렵기도 하고 실력 상승 목적으로 좀 더 현실감을 살리고 싶어 실제 연주 밴드를 레퍼런스로 삼았습니다
The 8-Bit Big Band라는 고전 게임 음악들을 Big Band Jazz로 편곡하는 그룹이 있는데요
마냥 악기와 스타일만 바꾸는 것이 아닌 새로운 해석을 담아 거의 오리지널 곡처럼 여러 가지 기법들을 넣는 곡들이 정말 예술입니다
요새 여기서 나오는 음악들에 완전히 빠져서 마침 재즈 장르 곡도 만들고 있겠다 하면서 많이 참고했네요 ㅎㅎ

사실 영상도 그냥 시아닌처럼 뒤에 재즈 바 사진 깔아두고 스펙트럼 대강 씌우려고 했는데 하필 바로 전 영상의 역동성이 엄청나다 보니까 조금이라도 눈을 즐겁게 해야 한다.. 하고 파트 별로 피아노 롤을 보여주는 형식으로 한번 구성해 봤습니다.
의도한 부분, 개인적 킬링포인트 위주로 구성해 봤으니 제 의도를 아는데 어느 정도 도움이 되실 듯 해요

Hello! It's a subscriber event song, but somehow I changed my Lanota boss song to a jazz arrangement for the second time after cyanine
So I brought the thumbnail that I used in cyanine jazz arr.

I've always had a hard time working on it, but this song was also not easy..
I thought a bit about what to do with the vocal chant part

I've worked on making new notes for songs with a lot of vocal chops who don't have a fixed note like Chrome Vox or Deadly Slot Game.
I thought it would be easy to arrange stasis that doesn't put much weight on vocals
But every time it comes out, the other instruments stop and only the vocal is emphasized, so if the melody of this part is a little ambiguous, it sounds really weird
So this time, I focused on the beat rather than the pitch
(It's almost like composing)

The next part is the Drop part.
The original song is a psytrance bass, and it's composed of a 16th note
I thought I'd hit each instrument with a solo like cyanine
Then the concept overlaps, and I don't think I can bring out the feeling of the original song
So I made like original (FFFFFF...) and it was more tense than I thought, so I had a lot of fun working on it

And I had a hard time with the chorus part.
Personally, I don't think it's a melody that goes well with the Chorus.
Because It's not high or fast, and the two melodies that need to be focused the most are alive without any interference, so how do I implement them in an acoustic song…

Should I take out one melody?
but I don't think it's right to take it out..
It's crude to mix both..
Anyway, I changed it three times. It definitely felt much cleaner when I took out the piano with a lot of overtone

I suffered from the signs of failure
Nevertheless, in the end, I'm glad that I got a satisfactory result.
I hate the myself of past but it's amazing that I did it
And I used the actual performance band as a reference because I wanted to make it more realistic for the purpose of improving my skills and big organization
There's a group called 'The 8-Bit Big Band' that arranges game music into Big Band Jazz
It's True Art. It's not just about changing the instrument and style, but that contains new interpretations and various techniques like the original song
I'm so into the music that comes out here these days that I'm making a jazz genre song, so I put a lot of reference into it lol

In fact, I was going to put a picture of a jazz bar behind me like cyanine and put a rough spectrum on the video, but the dynamics of the previous video are huge(Arcaea mashup), so I thought should make splendid even a little bit. So I composed it in a format that shows piano rolls for each part.
