*Your love was hidden in my soul without a sign.*
*Why, in my heart, is there neither a mark nor sign for you? Why, why?*
*He said, "I am the soul of your soul; do not hope to see the soul,"*
*O you who have shown me the face of the soul, why, why?*
*You, independent by your light and stars ashamed before you,*
*Why is there so much doubt in the heart from the clouds of suspicion, why, why?*
*You, who have taken a heavy toll from loyalty, why, why?*
*Why have you turned your heavy face away, making me weary? Why, why?*
*In my heart, which is your abode, it is where your loyalty resides*
*Why do you strike it with a spear wound at every breath? Why, why?*

*The wind is strong, and my lamp is flickering*
*So I light another lamp from it*
*Perhaps both together would suffice*
*If the wind blows away one lamp*

*He didn't understand this, so from vanity*

"We have explained this much; now consider the rest.
If your thoughts are stagnant, turn to remembrance.
Remembrance activates and moves the mind.
Remembrance is like the sun that revitalizes the depressed.
Your essence is an attractive but noble companion,
Work; do not rely solely on that attraction.

Familiarize yourself with the nights until morning,
With stars that burn demons.

The food of the sun comes from the light of the Throne,
Meanwhile, the envious demons feed on the smoke of the earth.

Recognize yourself as guilty and admit guilt; do not fear.
So that the master of the lesson does not steal from you.
When you confess, "I am ignorant, teach me,"
Such honesty is better than self-conceit.
The heart is like a mosque when it is in prostration,
A wrong friend is like the kharab plant; wherever it grows, it ruins the mosque.
If the love of a harmful friend takes root in you,
Flee from him and reduce your conversations with him.
Remove his root, for if it sprouts,
It will destroy both you and your mosque.
O lover, the kharab in you has turned to crookedness,
Why do you crawl like children towards people who are deaf or hard of hearing?

*O you, who are within yourself and have a weak covenant*
*Yet, I do not look at the faults; I grant mercy*
*My mercy worships in the mercy of my being*
*I do not look at your broken promise; I grant a gift out of generosity*

If a single particle of your effort were increased, it would be balanced in God's scale.

Consider yourself a criminal and do not fear the criminal within, lest the teacher of the lesson steal from you."
