Steam Link Review - In Home Streaming of PC Games for $50!

Buy it on Amazon - http://lon.tv/qms2v (affiliate link) - Valve is getting into the hardware business with a new device that streams PC games to a television for only $50. CORRECTION: I incorrectly stated that the device only has Wireless-N. It supports AC wireless.It's also possible to use the Steam controller without a dongle but they did not provide adequate documentation to indicate how that works.

The device connects via HDMI to a television and Valve recommends that both the gaming PC and the Link are connecting to the network via Ethernet. It supports up to 1080p at 60 frames per second on supported televisions.

I haven't experienced any real issues with it beyond wireless controller compatibility issues. Android targeted bluetooth controllers are not currently working. Xbox 360 controllers do work wirelessly (with a USB dongle) but are slightly laggy. Valve's new controller does work pretty well with its dongle but the controller overall is too complicated and cumbersome.

Xbox One and PS3 controllers do work connected via USB.

Those issues aside the device is very inexpensive yet offers performance identical to what I've experienced streaming from one PC to another on the Steam platform.
