In this video SMB Trader Justin reveals the 2 things he focuses on for making profitable trades.

They are Catalyst and Setup.

Types of Catalysts:
1. An Unusually Good Earnings Report: Can trigger significant price movements.
2. Better or Worse Than Expected Guidance update: Acts as a beacon for bullish runs.
3. A New Product Announcement: Creates buzz and draws traders.
4. Move Into a Hot New Sector: Can lead to increased buying pressure.
5. Collaboration with an Established Company: Boosts credibility and stock price.
6. Favorable Government Regulatory Announcement: Impacts entire sectors significantly.
7. New Large Contract: Can bring in momentum.
8. Cost Cuts: Immediate positive impact on the bottom line.
9. Analyst Upgrades: Sparks buying interest.
10. Macroeconomic News: Influences the broader market.
11. Management Changes: Signals strategic shifts.
12. Dividend Announcements: Attracts income-seeking investors.
13. Significant Legal or Patent Developments.
14. Major Shareholder Changes.
15. Breakthrough Research or Clinical Trial Results.
16. Merger and Acquisition News.
17. Company Restructuring Announcements: Announcements of major restructuring like spin-offs can revalue stocks, as markets anticipate improved focus and profitability.
18. Insider Buying Activity: Insider buying signals confidence in the company's prospects, often encouraging a positive response in stock prices.
19. Technical Analysis Catalyst: Such as a stock that's overextended to the upside or downside or a HTF base breakout is a catalyst in and of itself.
20. And Finally - a technical analysis catalyst such as a stock that's overextended to the upside or downside or a HTF base breakout is a catalyst in and of itself.

Types of Setups:
- Back-through open: Ideal for both bullish and bearish moves.
- Opening range breaks: Indicates range expansion with RVOL. Excellent strategy when paired with a catalyst and a tight range off the open.
- Mean reversion: Great for over-extended stocks that fail from recent resistance levels (and vice versa for the long side).
- Consolidation breaks: Look for consolidation breakouts/breakdowns for a continuation in the direction of the trend.
- FRD (First red day): Targets over-extended stocks for shorting the break of the prior close after a big run up.
- VWAP Continuation: Capitalizes on strong trends after a healthy pullback to VWAP.
- Blowoff Tops/Capitulation Bottoms: Help execute mean reversion ideas.
- Gap&Go: Opening drive after a gap up to a key resistance level on positive news.
- Gap Give and Go: Similar to Gap&Go, but includes a pullback into a key level before the run.
