Why are narcissists so confusing? I have no idea what the narcissist is saying and this leaves me confused! The narcissist never answers questions and most of the time you don’t even remember what you were talking about. The narcissist will deflect and blame shift so they don’t actually have to answer questions from you. Through lying by omission the narcissist speaks in half-truths as a way to protect their fragile narcissistic egos. Is omission a form of lying? Yes. The narcissist chooses their words wisely so that they don’t trap themselves and have a way out should you catch onto their game of control and manipulation. In fact, lying by omission is worse than lying in most situations because it is a way for the narcissist to look like they are cooperating with you, when they really aren’t. Lying by omission and other ways of responding by the narcissist are examples of narcissist word salad. The narcissist word salad example can be best descried as you feeling confused when the narcissist is speaking to you. Word salad is a bunch of non-sensical words the narcissist puts together so it appears they are answering a question, when they really aren’t actually saying anything of value. The narcissist never answer questions directly because then they are committed to the answer and it is harder to lie in the future. How to deal with narcissist word salad depends on you understanding what it is and then not taking the bait and being drawn into their word salad. I cant understand the narcissist and I have no idea what the narcissist is saying when they deflect, blame shift, and use their narcissist word salad. When a narcissist gaslights you they may even be using their word salad as a way to keep you confused. Why are narcissists so confusing?
