Our friend company have recently poured new terrazzo on the main floor of this church.

The terrazzo they installed in an epoxy-based terrazzo which they had to color match with the existing old terrazzo that was on the altar floor, corridors, and in the back of the church.

They grind the new floor only up to 200 grit level and then we come in the picture with our extensive mechanical diamond polishing techniques.

We continue grinding the new terrazzo at 200, 400, and then 800 grit levels.

Later we use D.I.P. System (Diamond Impregnated Pads) to polish terrazzo to the highest sheen possible.

We grind all the edges by hand. Using handheld machine allows us to cover all the edges, corners, and stairs which are not reachable for the floor machine.

We also use a large edge machine which is ideal machine for grinding and polishing
edges and corners of terrazzo in this type of project. Its 360° directional wheels
allow to move the machine in any direction also along the edges and corners.

Depending on the type of project, this edge machine allows us to grind stone in both wet and dry options. It has a built-in vacuum system that ensures a dust-free process while using it for a dry cut.
It turns to be balanced due to counter rotating double disc.

In large projects such as this one this edge machine is also ideal because we are using it while standing up and it reduces the stress to the technician.

As of restoring the existing cement-based terrazzo, we start by stripping thick layers of wax of the cement-based terrazzo.

We continue with grinding and then polishing terrazzo all the way to 3000 diamond grit level.

We would like to note that we are using a completely different polishing system of the existing cement-based terrazzo compared to a newly installed epoxy-based terrazzo system.

After all the polishing steps are completed, we seal and then burnish both cement-based and epoxy-based terrazzo.
