Let’s talk about 10,000 hours….this is the idea that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master…so to become an expert in chess you would need 10,000 hours of practice….or to be a master in science you would need 10,000 hours

Malcolm gladwell was a big proponent of this idea…. Malcolm gladwell wrote an amazing book called Outliers…which is a brilliant peice of work but I digress…but Malcolm has definitely popularised this idea…But is this idea of the 10,000 hours valid? ….the 10,000 rule gives a solid foundation to the term practice makes perfect…the chess example is a good one…it has been stated that no one can reach grandmaster level without 10000 hours of practice….if we accept that premise the house of the 10,000 hour rule has a strong foundation…. so let’s analyse this train of thought and begin this Journey
