UNDERSTANDING GUR SUBJECTS as a Hong Kong Polytechnic University student: CAR, CR/CW, ER/EW | PART 1

It is important to understand what GURs are as they play a major role with your graduation as a PolyU student. But I'm not going to lie, understanding PolyU’s General University Requirements (GUR) scheme can be one of the most confusing things for us as a student - especially as a freshman - to fully understand.

So if you're confused, don't worry! You're not alone. In fact, you've come to the right place! In this video, I've broken down the entire GUR scheme to help you gain a better understanding of it. I've also included some tips that could help you get by it better!

There are six components to PolyU's GUR scheme and this is part 1 of the series of understanding the GUR subjects as a Hong Kong Polytechnic University undergraduate student. Other than sharing about the basics of what the GURs are, in this video, I've also introduced two out of the six components of the GUR subjects. They are the Cluster Area Requirements (CAR subjects) and the Language and Communication Requirements, which are the two mandatory English classes and one Chinese class, along with the ER/EW, CR/CW and CSR component.
