Away in a Manger is a classic Christmas Carol that dates all the way back to 1882. There are actually two different tunes to this carol, often regarded as the European version and the North American version. In this video, I'm playing both of them - and they're both on the sheet music too. I start out in the key of F Major with the "Cradle Song" version which is used in Europe. For the 2nd verse, I'm still in the key of F and playing the "Mueller" version which is used in North America. For the 3rd verse, I take it up a key to G Major and revert back to the "Cradle Song". Both versions are equally lovely. I really hope you enjoy this song and I'd like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Christmas.
