Oil pump removal and maintenance on a Honda CB750 SOHC

The 1972 Honda CB750 valve train, timing chain tensioner and oil pump refurbishing continues. The Classic Honda’s from the 1970’s are very solid and dependable motorcycles that are beloved by enthusiasts throughout the world. They were revolutionary with their across the frame in-line 4 cylinder engine and the first ever production disc brake on a motorcycle. But being over 40 years old with miles and miles of joyful riding takes its toll on any machine. Advanced level procedures on engine internals will assure the next generation can enjoy many more years of trouble free touring and exploring.
In Part 22, we will watch how the oil pump check valves are cleaned. They must work properly so the oil does not drain from the upper engine areas, assuring proper lubrication when the motor is first started.
