Taught by a TV news anchor with more than 10 years of on-camera experience, this workshop is for ambitious professionals who want to grow their professional visibility among company decision-makers and industry leaders.You’ll learn how to improve your on-camera speaking skills (ex. Zoom meetings), how to talk about your accomplishments, and how to grow your professional credibility.

Starla Sampaco is a Filipino American TV news anchor. Most days, you can watch her reporting the news on KCTS 9, Seattle's PBS channel. This fall, she is teaching graduate students as an adjunct instructor for the University of Washington’s Communication Leadership master’s program, where she developed a course on professional visibility and self-advocacy in the workplace. Outside of journalism, Starla founded Career Survival Guide, which helps women & people of color navigate career challenges and advocate for themselves at work (through corporate workshops, free content on YouTube & Instagram, and consulting). As an extension of this work, she writes about career strategy as a contributor for the Harvard Business Review and has also led workshops for clients like Microsoft, AT&T, and the Washington State Society for Human Resource Management. In 2021, she was awarded spots on The Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list and 425 Business Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list. Starla has worked in television and media for more than 10 years.
