What is Hidden: Adam's Story?

'Hidden: Adam’s Story' is a project funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research. Coproduced by young people with lived experience, it challenges audiences to walk in the shoes of a young person struggling with their mental health.

This new interactive film captures the magic of the live show version, as performed in venues across Greater Manchester to audiences of young people, parents, educators and health and social care workers. It contains audio extracts made by young people with lived experience of mental health illness, together with filmed facilitation and a multi-role play character monologues
.
The film allows the opportunity to explore young people's mental health issues from the perspective of a young person affected by mental health illness, as well as looking into the impact on their sibling, mother and keyworker. The film includes an interactive discussion on the barriers faced by those involved, and how we can help overcome these. The film aims to strengthen communication and relationships between young people, their families and those who support them, improving outcomes in the pursuit of healthier and happier lives.

Hidden: Adam’s Story raises awareness of young people's mental health, and promotes further reflection on what we might do to help.

If you wish to deliver this workshop to a group of people you work with, a PDF guide to the interactive workshop part of the film can be downloaded here: https://www.madebymortals.org/hidden-...
