Breaking the German Enigma Code | WW2: I Was There

Описание к видео Breaking the German Enigma Code | WW2: I Was There

When war broke out Betty Webb was enrolled on a domestic science course, but soon left feeling she should be doing her bit for the war effort. At 18 she joined the ATS and after basic training was sent straight to Bletchley Park. Working as part of the UK’s intelligence effort Betty’s job was to register messages when they came in from interceptor stations across the UK. Betty handled some of the first intelligence that revealed the Holocaust but had no idea of how important the messages she had handled were until 30 years later when the Bletchley story could be made public.
