Judo Japan: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Expert Yuki Nakai approves Uta Abe of the Women’s National Team

Judo Japan, Women’s National Team held a training in Tokyo for the first time this year, where the legendary Japanese Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Yuki Nakai (Chairman of Japan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation), known for his close fight against Rickson Gracie, was invited to give a lecture.

In this 3 hour lecture which has been taking place annually since 4 years ago, -52kg Uta Abe (19) commented with confidence after actually grappling with Mr. Nakai, “It was a closer competition against him compared to last year. Although groundworks are difficult to master, I’m able to enjoy working on it recently. Mr.Nakai’s Shime-Waza was especially useful for me.”

Mr. Nakai too, approved the improvement seen in Abe by mentioning “The variety of her groundwork technique definitely increased.”
