Vinyl Wrapping BMW RT1200LC Panniers

In 2019 I did a YouTube video on how to vinyl wrap your panniers purely to protect the paintwork from scuffs and scratches, especially when a pillion gets off and the tendercy is to catch the top of the pannier with their boot. These have to be changed every year but at the cost of £29 for the clear Wunderlich ones this becomes expensive! I discovered last year that for £4.78 (today's price) from eBay you can buy enough to complete both panniers. But how do you cut them to fit? How can you butt together two parts? This winters 'pannier protection' time (and I have been doing this every year for like forever!) a 3M product came to my attention that cuts perfectly without a knife!
