This talk arises from my concern with giving student feedback to writing in the form of 'corrections'. Among other issues, students can be left without the tools amend their own writing when they have departed from their language study programme. I have devised a simple step-by-step way of helping students to improve their writing by empowering them to give their own feedback. This methodology is called REPORT, and I hope that it can help students become more autonomous and confident writers beyond the classroom, regardless of the situation.

Conor has been teaching English almost 14 years in Korea and Ireland, and has spent much of this time teaching EAP. He is currently a tutor in UCD International Study Centre and an EdD student at the University of Glasgow.
