The rotation axis on your CNC milling machine can be used is several ways. While al previous DeskProto 4-axis tutorial videos showed continuous rotation, this new video teaches you how to use indexed machining: machining a part from several sides, using 3-axis toolpaths for each side and a rotation movement in-between.

The video shows how to machine a wooden corbel. It first explains the differences between continuous rotation and indexed machining, and next shows how to create the toolpath file (G-code) in DeskProto. Finally the milling process and the result are shown.
