Democracy Gauge - Maskandi musician Qadasi

Описание к видео Democracy Gauge - Maskandi musician Qadasi

Time now for our regular Democracy Gauge feature in which you rate our democracy with three colours. Green means that our democracy is healthy. Yellow means that we must be careful. And red means that our democracy is in danger. Music played an important role against the struggle against apartheid. It was used to educate people and motivate to rebel against the system. 25 years later, one young white musician in KwaZulu-Natal, David Jenkins, known by the stage name Qadasi, has crossed the racial divide through his involvement in Maskandi music. Qadasi performs with Maqhinga Hadebe to promote unity and to help preserve this traditional Zulu music style.
