There have been numerous reports online about Sony closing down audio manufacturing plants in Malaysia and Brazil and changing their name from Sony Electronics to Sony Corp. Meanwhile, Sony is forecasting a 23% decrease in operating profits for for year ending March 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some are speculating that Sony is ditching their AV division and getting out of making audio products.
