Neutra in Bakersfield | House Tour

Описание к видео Neutra in Bakersfield | House Tour

Whenever you hear of the Architect Richard Neutra I would bet that you instantly think of Palm Springs, Los Angeles and Hollywood. However, Bakersfield... Yes, Bakersfield has two beautiful examples of Neutra's work that you may not know about. The Davis House, 1937, is a great representation of Neutra’s interpretation of the International Style and the Leddy Residence, 1958 , is an example of Neutra's Post and Beam style. Two very different styles of Architecture packed with great history and amazing caretakers. David Coffey owner of the Davis House moved to Bakersfield with the intention of being able to own a Neutra home and 14 months after moving to the city he was able to make the dream come to life and has lovingly cared for the home since. Patricia of the Leddy Residence is one of the few remaining original owners of a Neutra home. The story of Richard Neutra walking up to her family's land and scoping out the site for the home is a story to be heard, Additions were done throughout the years alongside a pool and pool house however the home still sits in a very original state in which the owners have loved throughout their lives.
