How You Can Maximize Lightroom’s LUMINANCE RANGE Tool

In this video I go break down one of Adobe Photoshops Lightroom Classic version 12.1 most powerful tool, the Luminance Range Mask. For the longest time this level of precision editing of light values was only capable within Adobe Photoshop. Since Lightroom Classic version 11 there have been dramatic improvements.

Using the eye dropper tool you can now select a point or area in your photo and all the pixels in your photo within the selected light range of brightness will become selected. This allows you to make precise adjustments ONLY affecting those levels of brightness in the photo.

By the end of this video you should know the difference between Adobe Photoshops Blending Options and Adobe Photoshops Lightroom Classics Luminance Range, how to select a Luminance Range within the mask area, Adjust the Luminance Range Slider to define the endpoints of the selected range, narrow down a specific luminance range, view luminance information in black and white and be able to read the actual area masked by the Luminance Range Mask you created.
