The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is the aviation branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). It was established in 1947, shortly after the country gained independence from the United States.

It is responsible for the defense of the Philippines' airspace and for conducting a variety of military operations, including air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, and air transport. It also plays a key role in disaster relief efforts and in providing air support to the AFP's ground forces.

In addition to its military role, the PAF also provides air transportation for government officials and supports civil aviation in the country. It is headquartered at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, near the capital city of Manila. The PAF is a member of the Southeast Asian Defense Ministers Meeting Plus (SEADM+), a regional defense organization.
