In the thrilling finale of The Mandalorian Season 2, Chapter 16, titled "The Rescue," Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) and his allies launch a daring mission to rescue Grogu (Baby Yoda) from Moff Gideon's clutches. The episode is packed with intense action, emotional moments, and unexpected surprises.

The team—consisting of Din Djarin, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Koska Reeves—capturing Dr. Pershing and using his knowledge to infiltrate Moff Gideon's cruiser. Posing as Imperial troops, they execute a well-coordinated plan to reach Grogu. Bo-Katan and Koska aim to reclaim the Darksaber from Gideon to restore Mandalore.

As the team splits up, Bo-Katan and her squad create a diversion, fighting their way through stormtroopers. Meanwhile, Din Djarin confronts dark troopers, barely defeating one before ejecting the rest into space. He reaches Grogu's cell, where he faces off against Moff Gideon, wielding the Darksaber. After an intense duel, Din overpowers Gideon, taking the Darksaber and rescuing Grogu.

However, their escape is complicated by the return of the dark troopers. Just when all seems lost, a lone X-wing arrives. A hooded figure with a green lightsaber emerges, cutting through the dark troopers with ease. The reveal of Luke Skywalker, played by a digitally de-aged Mark Hamill, brings a powerful and emotional climax to the episode. Luke offers to train Grogu, who, after a heartfelt farewell with Din, leaves with the Jedi Master.
