Celebrating Indigenous Design
A virtual conversation with Northern Cheyenne artist, Jordan Craig.

Through directly studying and interpreting traditional Native beadwork, pottery and weaving, Jordan Ann Craig creates carefully considered geometric abstractions celebrating Indigenous design and story. Jordan is a Northern Cheyenne artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her B.A. from Dartmouth College studying Studio Art and Psychology. Her work includes painting, prints, collages, textile prints and artist books. Jordan was the 2018 Eric and Barbara Dobkin Fellow at the School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe, NM. While at SAR, she studied from the IARC’s vast collection of Pueblo pottery to create large scale hard-edge paintings.
