Paddy Whacked: The Saga Of The Irish Mafia

Описание к видео Paddy Whacked: The Saga Of The Irish Mafia

The story of America's oldest and most powerful organized crime machine. Even before Al Capone and the Italian Mafia, the Irish mob had already created a vast empire of gambling, racketeering and political manipulation in large urban centers such as New York City and Chicago. Fueled by the pent up despair, anger and misery of the millions of people residing in the appalling conditions of urban slums, the Irish Mob will rise from a group of fist-fighting street toughs to one of the most feared and respected criminal and political organizations in American history.

Beginning with John Morrissey, a pugnacious and almost illiterate bar brawler desperate to carve a living on the cobblestone streets of 19th century New York, the story will culminate in the epitome of the Irish gangster, James "Whitey" Bulger, a figure who held much of South Boston in terror in the 1970s and 1980s.
