Málaga is the capital of the Province of Málaga, in the community of Andalusia, Spain.
The population is around 580 000. It is the second-most populous city in Andalusia after Seville and the sixth-most populous in Spain. An old town is really a tourist place nowadays.
Very convenient for tourists is that Malaga has an airport and a seaport visited by cruise ships.
Malaga is founded about 2,800 years ago, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the name of the city was never changed.

Malaga is a city with plenty of historical spots, like the Alcazaba, one of the largest fortresses in Andalusia and near the fortress of Gibralfaro, which offers great views of the city and sea. At the foot of the castle, there is a Roman theatre and an old part of the town to stroll around. As you walk through its streets you'll find monuments like the Cathedral, which is known as "The One-Armed" (La Manquita) due to its unfinished south tower. Here in the city of Picasso, you can visit the excellent Picasso Museum in the centre and the home where he was born. Malaga has 30 museums.

The main shopping street named Larios is near the Cathedral and the castle. You do not need a car to see the main spots of the city. They are within walking distance.
