For their senior capstone project at the University of Arizona, Environmental Science majors Grace Adams and Madison Gerdes recently teamed up with Sky Island Alliance's FotoFauna project. Their research focus? Climate change in the Sky Islands and whether regional warming is having observable effects on species distribution — in other words, where animals like coyotes, javelinas, and cottontails show up on camera. Are they going higher up in the sky islands to chase the same biome conditions as temperatures rise and dynamics shift?
