Is Marital Rape a Crime in India? | Crime Against Women | IPC

Hello Everyone. In this video we have discussed the laws regarding Marital rape in India. Rape is a criminal offence defined under section 375 of IPC. The most common forms are custodial rape, date rape, gang rape, campus rape but a form that has always been in dispute whether to criminalize it or not is marital rape that is rape after marriage. Until now, marital rape is seen as a form of domestic violence only, More than 100 countries have considered marital rape a crime.
