Guide on How to Clean the CZ P-10 C (Per CZ's Owner’s Manual)
Keeping your CZ P-10 C clean is essential for reliable operation and long-term durability. Follow this guide, based on CZ's owner's manual, to properly clean and maintain your firearm.

Step 1: Ensure the Firearm is Unloaded
Before cleaning, safety is the priority.
Point the firearm in a safe direction.
Remove the magazine.
Pull the slide back to the rear and lock it open to check the chamber, ensuring the gun is completely unloaded.

Step 2: Field Strip the Firearm
Disassemble the P-10 C:
Release the slide forward after confirming the firearm is unloaded.
Pull the trigger to release the firing pin.
Grasp the slide and pull it slightly backward (about 1/8 inch).
While holding the slide in this position, pull down both sides of the disassembly tabs.
Release the slide and allow it to move forward off the frame.
Remove the recoil spring assembly and barrel from the slide.

Step 3: Clean the Barrel
Run a solvent-soaked patch through the barrel using a cleaning rod.
Allow the solvent to sit for a few minutes to loosen any fouling.
Use a bronze brush to scrub the inside of the barrel, ensuring all residue is removed.
Run dry patches through the barrel until they come out clean.
Follow up with a lightly oiled patch to coat the barrel for protection.

Step 4: Clean the Slide
Use a solvent and a soft brush to clean the interior of the slide, focusing on the breech face, extractor, and any buildup near the firing pin.
Wipe away any residue with cleaning patches or a cloth.
Lightly lubricate the slide rails and other contact points.

Step 5: Clean the Frame
With a cotton swab or soft brush, clean the interior of the frame, particularly the rails and any areas where dirt or carbon accumulates.
Wipe down the frame with a clean cloth to remove any solvent or debris.
Apply a small amount of lubrication to the rails and moving parts.

Step 6: Clean the Recoil Spring and Guide Rod
Wipe down the recoil spring and guide rod with a cloth soaked in solvent.
Dry them off and apply a very light coat of oil.

Step 7: Lubrication
Proper lubrication ensures smooth operation. Here are the key areas to lubricate:
Barrel: Apply a light coat of oil to the outside of the barrel and locking lug.
Slide rails: Lubricate the slide rails on both the frame and the slide.
Recoil spring: A small drop of oil on the guide rod and spring assembly is sufficient.
Be careful not to over-lubricate, as excessive oil can attract dirt and debris.

Step 8: Reassemble the Firearm
Insert the barrel back into the slide.
Place the recoil spring and guide rod assembly into position.
Align the slide with the frame and slide it back onto the rails.
Pull the slide fully to the rear and release to lock it back in place.

Step 9: Function Check
Once reassembled, perform a quick function check:
Rack the slide back and forth to ensure smooth operation.
Dry fire the firearm to confirm the trigger mechanism works correctly (if permissible in your environment).
Insert an empty magazine and ensure it locks the slide open.

Step 10: Final Wipe Down
Give the entire firearm a wipe-down with a microfiber cloth or a gun cleaning cloth to remove any fingerprints, excess oil, or debris.

By following these steps, your CZ P-10 C will stay in top condition, ensuring reliability and extending the life of your firearm. Regular cleaning after each use or every few hundred rounds is recommended to keep your CZ P-10 C functioning optimally.
