Thrilling Geometry Problem: Find the Shaded Area – Two Circles with a Common Tangent in a Square

Описание к видео Thrilling Geometry Problem: Find the Shaded Area – Two Circles with a Common Tangent in a Square

In this extremely fun and reasonably demanding geometry problem, two identical circles are located inside a square. The circles do not touch each other but they have a common tangent line. We are given that the radii of the circles are 5 and 12. And we are asked to find the area of the blue-colored shaded region, which is a super weird-shaped region between the circles. This geometry problem has an above-average level of difficulty, so it is not too easy and some can find it difficult. That makes it great for practicing your skills in finding the area of the shaded region type of questions. If you want to try solving this on your own, you should most certainly try. Here are some clues for you. You will need to find similar triangles and use the Pythagorean theorem. You will also practice your skills in finding the areas of circles and sectors, the radius, and pi. If you cannot solve it on your own, do not despair because I am here to show you how to do it in a little over five minutes. I hope you will find my video useful, and feel like you have honed your maths and geometry skills by watching from start to end!
