Community day started in pokemon go in 2018.. With Shiny Pikachu with surf. And the next community day afterwards was Shiny Dratini in February 2018... This set the precedence for a schedule and reason for each community day coming towards us. This was an awesome time for pokemon go players to hunt down rare spawns, get shinies and capitalize on really exciting and meta relevant pokemon.

This trajectory was on point and went until 2020 when everything started to change. We went from rare spawns to repeat community day pokemon and common spawns... even pokemon that have shinies out already are introduced into community day which was never done before...
