Forensic science is portrayed in crime films. But did you know that similar technologies are being used by criminal investigation departments all across the world? Fakhra Al Shamsi gives several instances of experiments that investigate evidence and develop new methodologies in this talk. Fakhra Al Shamsi has various interests in science and was a member of the student council during her sophomore year, as well as volunteering for many things in her school and outside, attending environmental meetings, and winning an astronomy-themed competition with her class. Not only that, but she and her pals worked on a scientific fair project that was based on a murder scene, which was one of the most appealing projects among all the projects presented at the science fair. Her interest with forensics began when she took a class; she was fascinated by the subject and how new technologies are being developed every year This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
