Spanish speakers CAN'T pronounce this Spanish sound! (LL vs Y)

Most Spanish speakers pronounce LL exactly the same as Y, but this hasn't always been the case. Traditionally, LL was pronounced as a lateral palatal consonant, [ʎ]. The habit of pronouncing LL as Y is called «Yeísmo», and it was looked down upon for centuries, even up to the early 20th century. Nowadays more than 90% of Spanish speakers are «yeístas», that is, we don't distinguish LL and Y, and pronounce LL as Y.

Yeísmo, once considered a mistake, is now the worldwide standard. Today you won't hear the original LL sound from the mouth of any professional voice actor, radio host, TV presenter or famous singer. Not everyone is yeísta. In some smaller towns, some people still hold to the traditional lateral palatal sound [ʎ]. However, the younger generations want nothing to do with this sound.

I tried to find examples on YouTube of people naturally using the [ʎ] sound, but could not find any. Therefore, I decided to interview one of the only two people I know who still use this sound in their everyday lives: My cousin Mabe, from Quito, in the Ecuadorian highlands. The other person is her mother. Mabe's son is yeísta, so Mabe is the last in her family to make the LL/Y distinction.
