Chris DeWolfe explains how Myspace started out as a school project and later grew into the #1 social network in the World and finally the $580 MILLION sale to News Corp.

Myspace.com History
The domain www.Myspace.com was originally owned by a company who intended to use it as the name of their data storage website. However, in 2002 they went bankrupt and auctioned off the domain name which was then purchased by Chris DeWolfe for $5,000. In August 2003, myspace was founded with Chris DeWolfe filling the role as CEO and partner Tom Anderson serving as the President. (It was Tom who acted as the face of the new company and who would be your first friend automatically added to your friends list upon signing up to Myspace.)

In July 2005, Myspace.com was purchased for $580 MILLION by Rupert Murdoch's company News Corporation. Within the year, Myspace's growth had exploded and the value had tripled from it's original purchase price. In early 2008, Myspace was the world's leading social networking website and valued at a whopping $12 BILLION.

Life after Myspace
Since the sale of Myspace, Chris has stayed true to his entrepreneurial roots and has decided to tackle the world of internet gaming. In 2010, Chris DeWolfe purchased the mobile gaming companys MindJolt, SGN, and Hallpass Media. The three companies now make up the Social Gaming Nework where DeWolfe remains the CEO.
