[Digital meditation]
Here's my first 3D portfolio; [Digital Meditation]. It is a showreel for experiencing diverse possibilities in C4D and aftereffects focused on abstract/metaphysical expression.
This artwork is about 'new humankind's soul journey'.
It shows new mankind's subconscious and It’s creativity (creation, ritual, expression... i got inspiration from some of ancient ritual like from native Indian's sun ritual, Egyptian & European spiritual tradition, shamanism and bit of Buddhism). It reveals the evolution of soul through time.

주제는 '신인류의 영혼, 그리고 그 진화 과정'이며, 진행 방식은 쇼릴 영상으로서 시포디와 에프터이펙트의 추상적 표현 및 형이상학적 기능에 초점을 맞추어 탐구한 작업입니다.
Theme 1. Beginning of soul evolution
'Fractal', 'snake' and 'sea creature' represent the source of chaos, the force, universal atom, molecule, ameba, micro-life, cells, virus... (the image can help us think about how living things' soul started its' journey. And at the same time It implies us new human race’s spirit just met enormous change –another start- after Covid-19. the fear). Snake symbolizes the raw fear and subconscious of human beings. "Harmony with chaos".
1장 최초의 영혼 진화
'프랙탈'과 '뱀', '바다 생명체'는 원초적 힘과 미립자, 분자, 아메바, 미생물, 세포, 바이러스, 균, 공포와 고난을 이미지화 한 것들이다. (이는 분열된 세계에서 우리가 과연 누구인가 하는 영혼의 재규명을 요청하는 코로나의 영향력 또한 함축하고 있다.) 특히 뱀은 공포와 무의식 세계를 상징하고, 우리는 그들 모션으로부터 조화로운 혼돈을 발견할 수 있다.
Theme 2 Creative life force
Water and creations represent the life force, birth and creativeness in new man kind’s spirit. We received a present from God by being a tool of their creative heart.
(We can see symbolism from religions too; Apollo/Ra- the light, channel of the consciousness.)
2장, 물, 탄생, 빛, 창조성, 신의 선물
(자연의 창조성. 아폴론, 라- 의식. 빛의 세계)
물은 생명력과 창조성을 상징하고 우리는 물과 함께 인간의 창작물들을 볼 수 있다. 컵은 창조력을 담아내는 도구로서의 인류 영혼을 보여준다. 흐르는 자연적 힘과 신의 의지를 담아내는 컵이자 계량기, 창조성 그 자체로서 신인류의 영혼은 기능적 의미를 가진다.
Theme 3 Resistance force
Compare to water, sand represents death. Now, new humans do the dance of ecstasy to resist our fate- death. Small ‘sand’ball and tomb show how small our life can be, compare to the universe. . . We can see the delicacy of alive creatures. Now we start travel to the world of the dead.
(You might have found the statue of Isis in tomb and the symbolism of Dionysos- god of shadow and unconscious in the film.)
3장 모래, 죽음, 어둠, 저항, 운명
(죽음에 대한 저항. 디오니소스, 이시스- 무의식. 어둠의 세계)
물과 모래는 대조 되는 세계다. 모래는 죽음을 상징하며 춤은 인간 영혼의 저항을 함축한다. 작은 샌드(모래)볼은 인간의 연약한 운명을 드러내고, 이어지는 기하학적 형상은 유한한 시간을 보여준다. 모래로서 상징화 된 죽음은 생명에게 본연의 개성을 발복하라는 친숙하고도 두려운 원초적 자극을 한번 더 일으키며, 시간과 운명을 상징하는 작은 구체를 훅! 흔든다. 신인류는 연약하지만 무덤을 만들고, 시간을 기억하며- 운명에 대한 저항을 시도함으로서 영혼 진화를 구축한다. 그러나 우리는 다시 흔들리고, 모두는 죽음의 길을 여행한다.
Theme 4 Multiple-diverse way
As spirit went out from the physical body by death- with diverse circumstances, soul keep changes it’s form, character and it’s own root. Spirit seems like a bubble now and then it changes it’s quality then, turn ourselves into commercial bubble. . . And then It’s rippling, then pervaded in media, exaggerated, increased. . . Moving like a string, wave- affected by the diverse/unlimited effect from the world (It is shown as wormhole). Now, how new human kinds’ soul would change? With what factor? How would they make a new combination with Its’ circumstance? How we would mix ourselves with each other? Where would be our power led or we would lead our power? It is the multiple path now- May we ask these questions to ourselves to discover our possibilities.
4장 다원적 길
신인류의 영혼은 거품과 방울이 되어 그 성질이 변화하고, 상업 세계에 왜곡되어가기도 하며, 개성적인 기하학 형상물이 되기도 한다. 영상 매체에 노출되고, 증식하기도 하며, 늘어나고 줄어들기도 한다. 웜홀 이미지를 통해 세계의 영향을 받고 무한히 변화하며 나아가고 있는 영적인 힘들의 잠재력과 무한성을 표현했다. 어디로 갈 것인가? 어디에 노출되고, 결합하며 변화할 것인가? 이제 신인류의 영혼은 질문하고 있다.
