Why You Can Trust The Bible: Answers to the Toughest Questions | Daryl Black

Описание к видео Why You Can Trust The Bible: Answers to the Toughest Questions | Daryl Black

1 Peter 3:15 NIV
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

Why can you Trust the Bible?
The Bible is internally consistent, textually accurate, historically reliable, scientifically compatible, prophetically fulfilled, and experientially transformative.

1. Internally Consistent

The Bible is a collection of 66 books, written by over 40 different authors, across three continents, in three languages, over a span of 1,500 years with evidence of divine inspiration.

The Bible’s consistency across centuries proves it’s not just a collection of human ideas—it’s God’s revelation, divinely orchestrated.

2. Textually Accurate

Skeptic: Hasn't the Bible been changed over time?

The Word hasn’t changed, because God preserves His truth.

With over 5,800 Greek manuscripts, 10,000 Latin manuscripts, 10,000 manuscripts in other languages and over a million New Testament quotes from early church fathers, the Bible has more manuscript evidence than any other ancient text. Despite being copied for centuries, the message remains intact.

Matthew 24:35 NIV
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

Skeptic: But what about all the translations?
Skeptic: Isn't the Bible full of Contradictions?

Eye for an Eye vs. Turn the other cheek
God Cannot Be seen vs. People saw God
Do not judge vs. judge others

3. Historically Reliable

Archaeological discoveries and historical documentation confirm the Bible’s accuracy. The Bible doesn’t just tell spiritual truths; it’s rooted in real history.

4. Scientifically Compatible

Colossians 1:16a NIV
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.
Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scientific minds: “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
Louis Pasteur, the father of microbiology: “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.”
Isaac Newton, renowned scientist: “I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by those who were inspired. I study the Bible daily.”
Francis Collins, the renowned geneticist and former head of the Human Genome Project: "I find no conflict between being a rigorous scientist and a person who believes in a God who takes a personal interest in each one of us... Science is not threatened by God; it’s enhanced by God."

Isaiah 40:22 NIV
…He stretches out the heavens like a canopy…

Matthew 19:26 NIV
With man, this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

5. Prophetically Fulfilled

The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies, including over 300 about the Messiah, all fulfilled perfectly in the life of Jesus. The probability of one man fulfilling just a few of these by chance is astronomical—yet Jesus fulfilled them all.

Micah 5:2
Psalm 22 prophecies Matthew 27:35
Daniel 9:25-26 prophecies the timing of the Messiah

6. Experientially Transformative

Hebrews 4:12 NIV
For the Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword…

“You don’t just read the Bible—the Bible reads you.”
C.S. Lewis - “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it, I see everything else.”
