لعبت الحلقة دورا كبيرا في إشاعة الضحك مندفترة الستينات و السبعينات ويعود الفضل في ذلك الى جيل من رواد الحلقة من بينهم الفنان الفكاهي العفوي الشعبي المرحوم خليييفة .
كانت شخصيةالفنان الفكاهي الشعبي المرحوم خليييفة تحظى باهتمام كبير من قبل المهتمين بفن الحلقة،وخاصة الذين ارتبطوا بالحلبة في منطقة تشكيلة او سوق الأحد بمدينة المحمدية (حي السعادة) آنذاك. كان خليييفة يعزف على آلة الكمان مع عزف لاأساس له ولا مقامات وبدون نوتة.
كان خليييفة يرتدي لباسا يوحي بالفقر والحرمان. كان خليييفة يعتمد في صناعة الضحك على العقوبة وكان يستوحي الفرجة التلقائية من الوضعية المعيشية في تلك اللحظة.
