Sooke Potholes Regional Park - Easy Riverside hike with the dog

The Sooke Potholes Regional Park follows the Sooke River. The river has eroded rock into interesting geological
formations on the riverside. The Sooke River is the second largest river on Vancouver Island. The Park is also
the site of the abandoned Deertrail Resort -- we didn't see it this time, but it just gives us an excuse
to return for a follow up hike and video some day!

Meet Echo

Echo's a galgo, but we usually describe her as a Spanish Greyhound to people who've never heard of Galgos.

Echo had a very bad life before she came to Canada. Galgos are bread by hunters in Spain who mistreat
them. The dogs are abused as part of the hunting culture, and when they're no longer seen as useful
they're either killed or abandoned, often under barbaric circumstances.

You can learn more about Echo, and galgos on Echo's Instagram @ echo.the.galgo
