BelFeast is a new three day food and drink festival based in and around the Cathedral Quarter. Showcasing the best of Irish Food and Drink - delivered by the team behind the amazing Belfast Culture Night - so no wonder it was an excellent weekend :-) We had artisan food, street food, food tours, talks, samples - in streets and in local restaurants, cafes and bars. Belfast has amazing chef's - so it was great to see local ingredients mixed into amazing meals across the city.
Food is one of the things that could make the human being happy - and satisfied - and that is one reason why when it comes to those festivals which are related to food in one way or another, it all turns out to be different and usually successful.
As much as this event was attended by local Irish residents, this is considered one of the good recommendations we would give for those making their tour around Belfast city and this goes back to different reasons: First of all, this event is about showing every great thing that is related to the local food and drinks industry and second, it is held in one of the famous historical destinations that are visited by all those tourists who come to discover the city - so it will be a win-win situation.
Showcasing local restaurants, cafes, and bars is one of the things that this Belfast festival is created for, but there are other things which were part of this event as well, such as the artisan food market, the street food village, the foodie tours, and the talks, so it was all a different three-day event that took its place in Belfast, Northern Ireland and brought people to enjoy the Irish food, atmosphere, and enjoy those talks.
Belfeast food and drink festival was held around the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast from 23rd March to 25th March ( • Cathedral Quarter in Belfast; Cobbled Stre... ). In this Belfast festival, there was a food theatre that featured demonstrations from some of the finest chefs, food writers and creators in the UK as well as some of the emerging and established stars of the local food industry.
This was a very interesting experience that one could go through, not just for trying the food samples and hearing all those food talks, but it was also a good festival and experience for us to know more about the food and drinks industry from farmers and artisan producers as well as those restaurants which tend to create dishes that mix between different local ingredients to create those dishes at the end - those which local people might not know about.
There are always different specific reasons behind the importance of food in our lives and people should know these reasons in order to understand how food could shape or ruin their whole lives, that is also one important reason why there are those who choose to be vegetarians, those who go to the healthy choices, and those who just eat what they like but with paying attention. In BelFeast food and drink festival, there was a part of the event which was informing people about the importance of food and their sources and this part was calling out for all the ages to get them more informed about this part of their lives.
All these things included in the programme of the event should be encouraging enough for the people to think about attending it the next year - even at the end of this event, there was a performance done by the local arts and cultural scene to sum this programme; it was really an interesting food festival that we have ever attended in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The Cathedral Quarter is one of those famous historical destinations that people head for when they visit Belfast, where there are different restaurants, bars, cafes there and where one could also go and check the Commercial Court ( • Commercial Court Belfast, Cathedral Quarte... ), St. Anne's Cathedral ( • St. Anne's Cathedral - Belfast Northern Ir... ), and then go around Belfast City Centre and check what the culture of this country carries for the tourists and know what are the things to do in Belfast ( • A Walk Around Belfast City - A gentle walk... ).
Traveling is a full package that one takes and this means that it is about visiting the famous touristic attractions, getting to learn some of the famous verbs which they use in their language, and at the same time taste and experience their local food and drinks to come back home with a full experience.
