Authenticating A/B/U Magic cards

This is an overview of some of the ways you can identify altered or counterfeit vintage cards. It is not a complete toolkit, but hopefully it helps! In my personal experience, Unlimited fakes are trickier to spot than Alpha or Beta, so employ extra care. Always be vigilant -- scams are everywhere, especially as prices rise. Nothing spoils an investment like a fake card.
