West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumder took a dig at the state administration on Wednesday. He blamed the failure of the police for t he Rampurhat fire incident. He also alleged that extortions and syndicates between Rampurhat TMC leaders are responsible for the incident. He also lashed out at CM Mamata and questioned why Birbhum TMC president Anubrata Mondal was not yet arrested.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came down heavily in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday during her Darjeeling visit over the Bogtui or Rampurhat issue. She raised objection over Central BJP representatives submitting Bogtui report to party president J.P. Nadda.

Mamata said that the all cooperation was being done to the CBI over the Bogtui issue. Despite all co-operation, the BJP made their own report and by this they were trying to influence the investigation, alleged Mamata. She also said that why was BJP getting so much involved as it was not a political issue.

In a shocking incident, eight people were charred to death as their homes were set on fire by a mob in Bogtui village in Rampurhat. This mass murder is suspected to be in retaliation of TMC deputy Panchayat chief Bhadu Sheikh’s killing the day before.

Bhadu Sheikh, the deputy chief of the Trinamool Congress or TMC controlled Barshal village panchayat in Rampurhat, Birbhum, was killed in a bomb attack on Monday evening, as per the police. He was attacked by four men who came on bikes with their faces covered. They threw crude bombs at him. Sheikh was rescued and rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
