On March 15, a $418 million deal was struck that would resolve litigation brought by home sellers accusing the National Association of Realtors (NAR) of settling unlawful agent commissions and indirectly inflating home prices.

If approved by a federal judge, it goes into effect mid-July this year.
And, if the judge approves this, it means the long-standing standard 6% commission would be eliminated in THEORY, and buyers would be responsible for their own agent compensation.
